How important are engine numbers when delaring a engine change?
Here's my situation.
Bought a engine that had been removed from another car due to the owner upgraing to a more powerfull engine and so i want to declare my engine change but doubt the original owner of the engine will be declaring there engine change and so what would happen if i sent my log book off with the new engine numbers to declare my engine change if the original owner still has the same engine numbers on his log book?

Make sure you put the exact CC on the V5 when you send it, I made the mistake of putting 2000cc when I did my XE, dear me that opened a can of worms!

Do you think i should send a photo of the engine numbers in with the log book or just write them in and the engine CC and send it off?
