I'm going to use this thread as a diary/log of the progress with SteIIa.
First of, the name.
Stella was the first 1.6 Sport I had. There are some pictures on here somewhere on an old account.
SteIIa is the newer (road legal) replacement.
I've had it a few weeks and it was in a bit of a mess. Trim missing/hanging off, dodgy wiring, over heating, DIY lowering springs, illegal tires, ruined ball joint (caused the car to swerve at random)
Its going to take me a while to get it looking/going as well as I want it to, but that's the reason I got it.
As a project/hobby and possible investment.
Help and advice will be greatly appreciated.
So, here she is.
Corsa B sport, 2000, 1.6 16V
Here are a few pictures, let me know what you think.
Took it to the garage for him to tell me it wasn't just the ball joint that was F@#ked, it was also the hub assembly as it had worn away and wasn't gripping the ball joint.
This was replaced along with 4 new tires. I was also told I have 2 months to get new springs/dampening rods. Whilst up on the lift, he literally pulled out a rear spring with his bare hands without touching a tool. Quite scary.
This is what I have to deal with at work.
And finally... Todays bumper bodging session. Cable ties galore.
These will be sorted as I will need a whole new bumper and a pair of wheel arches/arch linings.
More updates soon.
Thanks for checking it out.
