as above going down motorway speedo stopped working everything else fine got to be cable i havent had a look, and the eml light comes on only after 10 or so minutes of driving
what could this be? i havent done much digging around but will later on, cheers

same happend to my 1.2 8v as well i couldnt find the problem changed a fuse and it was okay

will try a fuse check tomorrow, if not that im just gonna run it into the ground unfortunately and sell the wheels susp exhaust on as itsd not worth selling whole and not realy worth fixing.. here goes running it to the ground lol

scrap that where the fucks the fuse for the speedo on a 1.2 8v merit?! its the most basic of basic cars around of its age lol

You more than likely have a cable speedo, but of its electric it will be the same fuse as cigar lighter, just check all fuses to be safe.
If no luck do a paper clip test to read the code stored on ecu
