Well it's been a long 10 months since I decided to go but the time is finally here. Off to Oz at 9:10am for at least a year. Hopefully for the rest of my life if it all works out. Can't understand why I'm not more upset about leaving family and friends behind. Had a couple of leaving parties over the weekend and everyone else seemed upset and I was fine. Will most probably be a wreck tomorrow after saying bye to my parents/sister.
Anyway gonna try to get some sleep now so see y'all later!

Awesome stuff mate, moving isn't as big a deal nowadays because flights are cheap enough and you are only ever a day away from being back with your family.

Cheers for the best wishes folks. I'm lucky enough to be going with my best mates so it make the move a little easier. I might to a blog/travel journal yes. That's never been my kind of thing but it's a new start and it might be interesting for my kids to read if ever I have any.

i moved over here about a month ago. iwas the same with the parties etc, its really hits you when you actually relise you wont see certain people again.

for me after i left my old rented place with my mates at the door when i got home and when i left my dad at heathorw

Just on way to surfers now in a bus, the driver has never heard of our hotel. Great start! What a fucking long way it is from home. Managed 2 hours sleep in 33 hours. Knackered!

Surfers Paradise I presume. Some serious money around that place. I went for the day. The Q1 is pretty impressive from the top
