this tree (the one on the right) is on the road so isn't part of any house and is blocking the sunlight coming into my garden in the evening. as of now, my garden has no sunlight at all, which is rather annoying. one of the reasons i bought the house was because of the south facing garden which gets sun all day.

is it a case of ringing the council up and getting them to cut it back? will it cost me anything?

pouring petrol on the ground around it isn't ideal as all it needs trimming rather than removing, and theres no way i'm hanging 30ft up a tree cutting branches off

good idea though

Last thing you want to do is start a wildfire, just trim it.

Looks like a shit tree anyway, wont be any TPOs on that.

Slightly off topic i know but just go round and ask,

we had the same with our neighbour, offered to go halves if she was willing to cut it down, she wasnt fond of it anyway was just there when she moved in so was happy to have it taken down

I've the same issue too, no rights to sunshine though aparently. If it was sunny more i'd probably nip around and ask!
