I know a lot of new cars have freeview built in now but how reliable is it? I was looking at the kits on eBay to stick in my Megane but surely they won't work whilst moving? Anyone know of anyone fitting them and them working?

alot of tv systems have a 'feature' where its not suppose to work when the car is working, afaik it works off the hand brake, which can easily be tricked.

Oh yeh my old DVD head unit had that which was easily bypassed. I just wondered whether the signal was any good.

Brothers RR has it, works pretty well on the move, certainly better than the analogue system I used to have in my old Corsa. You get the odd bit of picture break up but it's certainly watchable.

The Evoque I was in earlier this week had it. Only the passenger could see it when the car was moving. Picture did break up a couple of times, like freeview and Sky normally does with bad weather.

Iv installed it in my 3 series. It already had the tv in motion mod but after a few weeks of tv going digital it stopped working, got the av input lead off eBay and a freeview kit, paid 120 for a kit with twin ariels And built in signal amplifier and I get perfect tv stand still or driving.
