Nope not a BMW.
Bought this as a potential replacement of the Astra but I'm thinking otherwise now. Its slow, the Astra drives better, better on the juice and the Golf is dog slow as its only a baby 1.4
Only thing I like about the Golf tbh is the looks and the comfort, its not a bad car, I just prefer the Astra.
Shes in mint condition though, I've not seen one this clean in a long time!

For me, the golf is miles ahead of the astra, slower or not.

They are woefully underpowered. Yes I know it is not a performance car but it is so bad its not fit for purpose.
I am guessing you got it for peanuts compared to a 1.6 - 2.0 or a PD engined one?
Does look to be in superb condition though.

Yea I don't think I could live with it tbh its that slow, reminds me of my Corsa when it was a 1.0
Picked it up for £600 Seth which I don't think is to bad. Just wish it was a bit perkier as its a far nicer car than the Astra. Maybe a nice PD engined one is the way to go.

I'd have the golf over the astra even if its a 1.4 but thats personal opinion. Price is a bargain tbh.

Golfs actually cheaper to insure than the Astra too which would be a bonus. I could always drop a bigger donkey in if I kept it

£600
Can't argue with that.
TBH if I was running a silly powered evo or scooby and needed a 2nd car I could probably live with it for the 2-3 mile run to the gym/work

Don't do anything to it because it won't be a bargain car then and you may as well of bought one with the spec you wanted in the first place.

Yea I could live with it as a 2nd car but I wouldn't need it as a 2nd car against a 1.7td Astra But I travel 60 miles to and from work each day so I'm not sure its what I need.
Think I'll just shift it on for a small profit tbh. Its got 124,000, service history up until 2006 which isn't worth anything and 8 previous owners.

I was expecting it to have been owned by an old dear with only 60k on it
You should make a few bob on it though

Prefer the Astra tbh.
Golf blend in with the rest of the common car on the road,The Astra on the other hand would catch my attention.
