this ass in a 1.2 8v corsa last nite followed me about like fuck then cut me up an he was wantin a race as so i thot fuck it an took him out the bypass an gave him a good look at tthe resr end of ma motor, blew him away, he came up 2 me an was like thats no fair its a 1.2 16v i was like no its the same as yours m8 an u jus got smoked god how satisfying lol

Drivers skill? gear changes?
the 8v only has power low down the rev range, the other guy might of been ragging his and taking the revs too high before each change thus not pulling away as fast.

na the guy was an ass shud have seen him wen he parked up he was all wonderin how he could have been beaten, im not claiming my 1.2 is amazingly fast but when racing a car of the same standard the skill of the driver is shown up much more.

1.2 8v's are Slow. very very SLOW. I've owned mine for over 18months now, and its tedious. Although i dont use mine for racing etc, on the motorway it has stupidly little power.
Although dispite this, i doubt there are many corsa owners on this site (with sports, GSi, Sris etc), who's engines will be as in good a nick as mine at 127000 miles.
After being a hertz renta - car till i got in, its literally thrashed its whole live, but still returns 50mpg to the gallon and starts first time, every time, and runs like the day it come outta the factory 
So tbh, great engines, just not made for speed.
