Yes and no.

It did limit the torque going through the front wheels, but it didn't stop them spinning up when esp was turned off.

But you are saying that because of the torque limiter your tyres only lasted 6k mile. You can turn off the ESP/TC in any car and spin the wheels

It was more to do with the being shit off the line part.

Having re-read it, it did sound a bit weird. Im trying to work and browse internet sites at the same time.
