Stripped the car down over the last couple days because the alternator failed.



Oil from the crank case breather.. Oil level too full. Oops, luckily i just need to deop out some oil and no harm done.



The oil made its way into the laminovas in the inlet and water system so had to power wash the manifold and get some petrol swilled around.



Other news, New vs old tyres.

Mine does the same on my Astra coupe despit no leaks seams to change weekly ;-(

Thats a crazy amount of strippage! Probably looks worse because the clam is removed.

Hope it's an easy fix.

Yea just the clam is off.

Litterally you have to strip the entire car to bits to remove the alternator.

Roof off
Rollbar cover off
Boot lid off
Seats out
Parcel shelf out
Jack the car up to get some hidden bolts

Then you can take the clam off.

Glad i did tho, sorted a few nuggles out at the same time

All back on, put on a belt protector aswell
