I've had my laptop for just under a year now and recently it's started acting up. When i leave it for longer than 10 mins the operating system becomes unresponsive.

The mouse moves and I can double click programs but nothing opens. Websites don't open and when I click the windows symbol to shut down that freezes.

I have to hold the power button down to turn it off.

Any ideas what I can do to fix this?

Restart your laptop and press F8 when you see the Dell logo. then go Safe Mode with Networking. Go onto the net and search for Anti-Malware. Download that (free), and run a scan (in safe mode). Then see what happens.

Edit; to say scan in safe mode.
