My phone has a faulty home button, and yesterday I smashed the front screen. I'm booked into the Genius Bar Tuesday, what can I expect them to do? The phone is out of warranty.

what phone is it?
They usually offer a replacement phone at a cost of £119(if its an iphone 4).
Personally take it somewhere local to get it it repaired. Should be done within the hour and lost half of that ^^

I've seen a few non-apple screens and it really does seem there is a huge variation in quality of screens. Some of them were shocking while others were as good as the apple ones.
If you've got multiple problems with it I think I would probably get the apple replacement as you know then its had a full refurb and everything about it will be like new. It will include a new screen and battery and external casing as a minimum (which does not leave much that is not replaced)

This tbh.
Mainly ebay ones seem to be shite from experience, it has also taken me a few different suppliers to find ones that are as good looks, fitment and display wise as the apple ones

When I smashed my iPhone 3G it was in the region of £100 and they did replace the screen there within a few minutes. Only managed to get a replacement handset eventually for a crack in the back plastic that was apparently a recall.

Took my 4S in on Friday because the lock button was sticking. They gave me a brand new one. Dead easy and hassle free.

Paid £119 and received a brand new iphone 4, Was in and out less than 5 minutes.

Luckily the screen being smashed isn't the only problem as the home button is dead too, hopefully this will increase my chances of getting a replacement handset.
