They seem to do it in the states quite a bit - several on one of the E46 forums I lurk on have plastidipped the whole car in matt black.

Seem to remember an MG F doing the rounds a little while ago too.

I've plastiDipped the centre cubby holes on my E46.
looks quite good but takes ages to 'cure' and get a solid finish on it.

yes hard like paint but its feels rough tbh, the focus owner only did it as he was going to some forus rs drive and wanted to stand out he said it only cost him about £100 and took 3 hours
