Anybody have experience of soundbars?
Bought a new TV about 6 months ago and have decided the sound quality is awful.
Not sure a surround sound system would be worth it as it would hardly ever get turned up with usually only watch films once the kids have gone to bed
Soundbars look like a possible alternative but don't know anyone that has actually used one.
Any advice would be great

Bought this Yamaha last month: The Yamaha YHT-S401.

Best sound I have heard from a bar. The Philips I had before was pants. It also has 3 HDMI inputs, USB input, iPhone dock and FM radio. Nice bit of kit.
Quick pic of the bar under a 51" TV and you can barely tell it's there but the sub to the right is pretty large. Great bass though

After reading up on it I'd have to spend more than I really want to get anything decent
Think I'm gonna get the Onkyo HTX-22HDX 2.1 system
Can easily be upgraded later on then
