Hi im new to this site so go easy haha. I have recently brought some speedline alessio 2 alloys fitted with 195 45 16 tyres et49 so perfect fit for my corsa b sport. The problem im having is that they seem to be catching the front arches. Im only down 50mm front so its not low, i have seen some lowered 70/80mm no problems so i dont get it. The only thing i can think is there rubbing because these are budget tyres and they have rim protectors so they stick out that little bit more???. These were the tyres that came with the wheels. Any help appreciated cheers!

Ideally, you need 195/40/16's mate.

Hmmm i see. I just thought if im 50mm and someone else is 70/80 surely rollin on 45s i would be ok?

Have you had a wheel alignment done? Maybe your wheels aren't aligned properly?

Does depend on the shape of the tyre as you say.
Can you see where they're catching? If its the plastic arch and its not yet been trimmed then doing that will help.

To be honest, you have to do a bit of "modifying" to get it not to rub at 70-80

You might need to take a few arch bolts out and bond the arch on, when I had speedlines I had 5mm spacers on and lowered 60mm and that used to catch a little bit of Going over a speed bump a bit too fast

Yes its catching on the inner arch lining, where the inner arch meets the metal. I think it just needs trimming like you said. Do you agre that 45 profile will be ok if this is done? Cheers for the replies!

Yes lots of people running 45s.
I went for 40s on mine but that was just to get it a bit lower, its not essential.

45 profile's and not a bit of rubbing.
Never liked 40's, look too rubber band(ish)

Tbh mate just take top bolts out of arches n trim them youll be fine im lowered 90 mm with wrong offset n just a few mods

Cheers for the reply mate. Ive trimmed arches and removed the bolts. Just rubs on ful look but i think its down to the shit budget tyres in my opinion. You running 16's then?
