iPhone 4 16gb
Keeps turning itself off, every now and then. Really bad now, it barely stays on, and its at the point where the charger needs to be plugged in.
Sometimes when it turns itself on and off, it loads to the screen of ios6 setup, then manually turn it on and off and all the settings are back to normal.
What would be the cause of this? Either going to chuck it in the bin and get it fixed or get a new one.
Thanks

Send to me..
I have loads of parts here that I can use to TRY and distinguish the problem
I would start on a new battery and go from there.....might even be the logic ribbon

If it's had a new battery, then I'd take a bet on that being the problem - either the battery is faulty or a connection to it is (I'm guessing the iPhone battery is soldered onto the logic board?).

It's a genuine battery, bought a cheapo and put it in this one, then when I sold another iphone, i put the genuine battery from that, into this one.
Is the battery the cause then? Not checked if clip is down properly etc

Defo test the battery....even with a friends etc
Its only 1 screw for the battery so that should distinguish a possible fault.
Have you checked the water indicators?

My old Nokia N900 did this, I sent it back under warranty 3 times because of the issue only to discover it was a poor battery connection. I placed a piece of card between the cover and the battery to eliminate the freeplay and all was solved

I've just killed my 3GS. New battery, same problems with getting the phone to actually turn on and stay on and now I can't get a signal. Throwing the thing in the bin now.
Two iPhones, both been nothing but problems.
