Drive it. Easy enough to drive a car with no clutch. I done it for about 3 weeks with a Ford Fiesta, including doing take-away deliveries.

If the clutch cable has gone, not if the clutch has gone.

Car i done it with had a hydraulic clutch, slave cylinder was leaking. Pedal was too the floor. Can still be done even if the clutch is gone.

I assumed you couldn't move a car if the clutch had totally worn out. I had a car once where the clutch was no more, you could literally put it in each gear whilst stationary idling, so how would I have moved that car?

I could sit there with the car running and put it in either gear with the shifter quite freely without the need to press any pedals etc. I could put it in first no problem or any other gear in fact, but obviously when you press the pedal it'd just rev on the spot? You seem confident, maybe it was me or maybe it was something else fucked, god knows.

That dosn't sound like a clutch issue Brett.

Fair enough. I was handed the car and told it had a knackered clutch. It did drive for a bit slipping like fuck until it got to a point where the gears just didn't do shit, so I assumed the clutch comment was the cause.

If the clutch is stuck on that's fine. If it's gubbed and doesn't transfer power to the wheels you obviously can't.

Brett is correct. If your clutch has gone you have no drive. Been there and done that.
