Well finally pulled my finger out and and decided to crack on with trying to get my corsa running properly with a couple of my mates.
I started the car up earlier and it wasn't making any dodgey noises. All I've done is change the throttle body gasket for a new GM one and topped the oil up and now its making this weird ringing sound which changes with the engine revs

Excuse the tapping it hasn't been started in months.
Would an airleak make this noise? This was my original problem which im trying to fix
Cheers in advance

Sounds like it could be an air leak, it's hard to tell in a video though

100% Air leak. Had it when we fitted my mates power box. We had the leak between the throttle body to the box which sounded identical

Its getting on my wick now Daz Just want the car to run right so I can enjoy it. Had nothing but problems with it this year.
Something else I could maybe try is to get the face of the inlet that mates onto the throttle body machined to make sure its 100% flat? Thats the area thats causing the problem anyway

When I fitted mine I had 3 gaskets on it and sealer too. Was the only way I could stop the leaking air.

Yeah thats the sort of thing I was thinking Daz Might have a ring round
mattievRS, sounds like you had the same nightmare im having I've tried different thickness gaskets, with and without sealant, then sealed the whole was round the edge of it and it still bloody leaks.
Out of interest mate, what did you do about the 4th bolt hole on the throttle body where you can't get a stuck bolt in? Wondering if that could be giving me problems?

I used a small length of threaded rod and a nylon nut.
