Can't beat the comments on daily mail articles, this one is my favourite:

Ok, so a Nokia 3210 is a £250 phone? Good one.

Probably when it came out, even the daily mail wouldn't be writing an article about that.
A fairly high value car is worth 100k for a headline, if it was 151k they'd have probably said 200k.

They also probably don't care what month the landrover was built after you've spent all afternoon googling it. What's really happened is some journalist that normally writes about dieting has had a guess.

I didn't spend all afternoon googling it I just knew that the Land Rover was first built in 1948, something that even the shittest journalist should really have checked. There is no excuse for sloppy journalism with the wealth of information at your fingertips.

Tbf if you saw a C as deep in water as the Bentley, people would be like 'it's just a C'. Because people can afford that and don't see it as such a luxury item.
I'm sure - to an extent - that is how he sees it with thd Bentley?

I dunno. Just saying.

Our CEO wrote his off in same way many years ago, was best way to get rid of it!

When Carlisle floods were on, driving home and the puddle was a tad deeper than it appeared.

lol cant believe they made such a big story out of fuck all

cars never worth 100k now 50 at best, but yeh defo a write off due to the cost of interior, electrics and possible engine damage, good scrap donor car for parts though

probs expecting a payout on the insurance so him forking out £1000 excess and going out an buying 40-50k merc seems reasonable enough

stupid to drive through the flood, but as to what he did after i would probs do the same....fucked your car, youre loaded, go buy another, dont see the issue personally

obviously a slow news day

Its daily mail and their readers tbh, all have ulterior motives. They are just jealous and angry people wanting to make someone feel bad.

The M6 that got flodded down the road from me should be bigger news. Fair enough, it's not as expensive, but much rarer.

I dont think it really works like that, to most people Bentley sounds better than BMW in a headline.

It doesn't work because "Parked Up BMW" isn't as good as "Millionaire in Bentley Drove into Flood".
