Do you want them to come on just when the doors open? Or anytime you turn on the interior light?
I'd wire them to the little switch on the A post, like a spring switch which controls the interior light when the door is opened. Meaning when you open the doors they would come on.

Passenger side a pillar, the wires that go to the interior light. Then it'll light up when you open either door or pull the switch.. Not just when you open the one door it's wired to.. Also take the interior light bulb out so it's only the footwell LEDs

Less than a minute to replace it when needed, just keep the festoon bulb in the ash tray

Seems stupid, just wire it to the door switch
