The time has come...
I was told I'd probably need glasses by the time I was 40. However I'm 30 next year, and now I need them, so unfortunately it's come a bit earlier than I had hoped. How did you adjust to it? Must say I'm a bit daunted by the whole thing really. I could tell things were starting to get a bit blurry though so that's why I booked a test.
Mainly for screens and driving I guess atm but he said I'll probably end up wanting to wear them most of the time as things will be clearer, makes sense. I think these were the ones I've gone for...

i adjusted to them by throwing them in the bin and getting contact lenses.
unfortunately, you do need glasses sometimes as wearing contacts every day can hurt your eyes.

I hate wearing glasses and have worn contacts for about 7 years now and wouldn't go back.

I ordered some Oakley frames on Monday, Junkyard they were called.
Anyway, I just wore my glasses and got on with it when I started needing them. Used contacts for about a few years now but still wear glasses in the evening if I'm at home, give eyes a break.

I only wear mine for driving and watching the TV luckily I don't think I've ever worn mine for a full day. They felt a bit weird at first but you soon get used to them

I've had glasses for 6 or 7 years, got contacts on monday & best thing I could have done. Glasses are alright, wee bit of getting used to but sports is a fair no-no if they're dear ones.

To put it like someone on here recently said (JonnyJ?) it was like looking at the world in HD once I got my glasses
Took me about a week or so to adjust to them, been wearing them every day for a few years now. You get used to it, can't be arsed with the expense and hassle of contact lenses.
I find wearing glasses with those all in one kind of frames are more comfortable than ones with the bits that go on your nose like in the pic posted at the top of this page.

I'm the same. Turned 30 a month ago, went for an eye test and they said I could do with wearing glasses for driving and tv/PC use. Bought a cheap pair for now, but will buy a better pair when I find some that vaguely suit me

I can't really have that type as I have a badly broken nose and I need the clips so I can bend them into shape.
I also can't really use contacts as I have something called keratoconus which can cause problems.

Have you had your keratoconus diagnosed by the
Hospital?
I've fitted loads of keratoconics with contact lenses!

Contact lenses do not always take to individual eyes. I am more comfortable with my glasses than contact lenses in terms of sticky eyes and things are a lot more clear.
It's a fact of life, i have to wear glasses

I've been wearing full time for about 5 years now. Quite annoying at times, watching films on a night piss me off because the slight bit of muck/grease on the lenses make the image glare from my telly... so I normally spend 20mins before we stick a blueray on detailing my glasses
They were a fucking nightmare on holiday too, got some prescription sunnies but we went to Orlando so constantly going inside, outside, inside, outside, etc.
I keep meaning to have a contact lenses appointment but my local specsaver only does them on a week day - and really CBA booking time off to do it....

Luckily watching TV atm gives me no problems... it's just text based stuff and I can't read number plates from any distance with my right eye either!
