Received my OPD inlet manifold from Beardy the other day so managed to get that fitted, ill get straight to the pictures..
Inlet manifold, bolts, throttle blanking plate & vac take off
Stripping it all down this is the only picture I got as I got carried away
All fitted
Had to hit the bulkhead with a hammer slightly so that I could get the TPS & ICV plugs on as there wasn’t much room
While I was at it I put new vacuum pipes onto the MAP sensor and the fuel tank vent valve with there only being the one vac take off on the manifold I used a t-piece to connect both vacuums together
I used a bit of cold air feed pipe for the pipe from the throttle body to the airbox and placed the Intake air temp sensor onto the airbox. Works a treat
Thanks to Beardy for the inlet, its spot on, its very well made and can definitely feel the difference and it pulls all the way to the rev limit.
Would recommend one to anyone with X14/X16 engine

Update
Got a little bit of work done on the car this week. Nothing major just little bits.
Firstly I started painting my rocker cover, I though id make a few changes and smooth off the brackets for the engine cover.
After cutting of as much as I could I got the grinder out
In primer
And painted
It just needs to be lacquered, then ill get it fitted.
Got fed up with my bumper being held on with cable ties which kept braking so I go me some of these..
And fitted
I had a spare wiring loom laying around so I though id use it to tidy up the wiring from when I fitted the inlet manifold.
Still need to get that fitted.
Due to the car running rough I had to replaced the lambda sensor and the MAP sensor
They sorted it out a treat
But, and now onto the bad updates…
While I was checking for things regarding the running like crap I done a compression test which resulted in cylinder 4 being 36psi down, did a wet test and found it to go up so that’ll be the piston rings on there way out.
Also took a trip to wales with a couple of mates and that resulted in my clutch to start slipping
Then yesterday my auxiliary belt decided to give way, got that changed and while I was there though id check the condition of the cambelt, took the cover off and was greeted by this..
One of the bolts have come loose from the cam sensor and got stuck between the belt and the cover, luckily I noticed before the belt snapped otherwise that could have ended up being expensive.
At the moment the cars just sat there until i can get it down to my mates unit. cant really be bothered with it at the moment, was going to find myself a cheap runaround for the winter months anyway so its no biggy

Though today id make a start on doing my cambelt, just to try get the car running so I can get it down to the unit without having to tow it.
Started the day with the engine bay looking like this
Got the air box cover out the way
Then took the bottom pulley off.
Took the lower belt cover off.
Put crank pulley bolt back in so I could time it all up, was doing it from the top so checked the cams were lined up correctly. They were spot on
Got the car jacked up and checked to make sure crank pulley was lined up… it wasn’t
Was only out slightly so lined that up properly and checked the cams to see how far out it was.
Was out by about 1.5/2 teeth.
I could turn the engine over easily without any knocking or it going overly stiff, so thought id get it all lined up new belt on and run it.
With the crank lined up I took the belt off.
Took the rocker cover off.
Then adjusted the cams so they lined up correctly.
Got them pretty much spot on so left it like that for today.
Going to go down to Vauxhall tomorrow get a new belt and rocker cover gasket and we shall go from there hopefully I’ve got lucky and it hasn’t caused any damage

Bit of a random question but how much higher than the rocker cover does the inlet manifold sit? I'm thinking of getting one for my Nova but worried it might sit a little high and touch my strut brace.

what offset were the ronals please??? the rears sat perfectly. seeing your pics with them on makes me wanna drop my car more. but its too impractical now. my porsche twist reps are et 38 and the fronts sit perfectly just want the rears to have more poke but dont think ill manage it without raising it up abit and using spacers.
