I have no where to wash my car due to apartment living so I have to use car washes.

Done 14k in 5 months..Will do less than 50 miles per month at the moment as I'm basically out of work.

What is the best way to sort out the swirl marks?

Corrective Paint Treatment, otherwise you just stand to make it worse by DIYing it.

Try hand polishing something like AutoGlym SRP, but for decent correction you'll need a machine polisher and a £400 sun gun

Youtube Meguiar's Microfiber (sic) Correction System - G220v2 DA polisher, special microfibre pads, compound and wax. Piece of piss to use and practically impossible to do any damage unless you're a complete fuckwit, which you aren't.

Not cheap though - expect to pay about £250.

Or you could just hide them with a filler polish like Autoglym SRP or Bilt-Hamber Cleanser Polish followed by Glaze - Poorboys Black Hole for a dark car or White Diamond for a light car - and topped off with wax.

Just get something like srp and poor boys if your on a budget, even a das-6 and menzerna kit is only like £109 or something to do a half decent job.

But you don't need a £400 sun gun

Car-Lack 68 Nano-Systematic Care polish followed by Colli 476 hides swirls quite well too.

Complete kit for £30ish:

Waiting for the weather to get a bit better and with give the AutoGlym SRP a go. Worth using a machine polisher? Have one sat in the loft i bought a few years ago. Has pads but will just be cheap ones that come with it. Can you guys recommend some decent ones?

We also have a 90k Astra in black. It's covered in swirl marks and has a good few scratches and car park dents. What is best to use on this car? It has never seen polish in it's life!! The mrs Dad had it before her and didn't look after it. Mechanically his mate did all the work so sound!

I have an adjustable speed angle grinder and have used it for polishing and it worked fine.

Also had a proper polisher which was miles better but Whittle stole it. Cunt.
