I'm needing a fresh install of windows 7 on one of our laptop's we bought the laptop from new and it come pre installed with windows 7 so we have no disk.

any ideas?

You can download and burn an ISO from Micrsoft, you just need your license key.

Recovery partition?

When you turn it on, does it say anything about doing a restore if you press F10 etc

What brand on laptop is it? My acer has an option when you click start then files theres a acer recovery option

It'll normally have annoying pop ups to say you can create your own recovery disc.

Failing that as said the above. You can even buy discs from PC World etc which don't have a license key. About £15 iirc.

Recovery partitions suck, it'll put all the nasty bloat-ware back on that laptops come with. Can't beat a nice fresh install

Download the ISO, use the key on the sticker, job done.

did it absolutely positively not come with a disc? they sometimes send them out with really boring plain discs that say what they are in small letters not a nice shiny hologram affair!

100% no disk have looked in the box also.

I've the product key under the laptop but just no bloody disk


Laptops an acer of some sort, will need to check when home. Will give a few of the ideas above a try and see how I get on.
