Ok, so the time has come to replace the front tyres on the barge. narrowed it down to a choice of 3 - all around the £100 each mark, just not sure what to go with so wanted some thoughts.
choices are:
Goodyear eagle F1 assymetric 2
Vredstein ultrac vorti
Yokohama Prada spec 2
any others to consider possibly? (225/40/18)

i have parads spec 2's, my own opinion is that they are absolutely awesome in the dry, grip is superb, not very good in the wet , undriveable in the snow. £100 is cheap for them in that size... normally about £130.

I don't think you'll go far wrong with any of those 3. Not had first hand experience of the Vortis but the Sessantas were excellent.
Said it before but Rainsports are a great all round tyre for the price, especially in British conditions.

vredestein ultrac sessanta's have always been my choice in that size.
i think the vorti are the newest ones, but they don't have the cool tread pattern.

I didnt have any experience of these tyres, but got them in 19's on the other halfs A4 and I am really impressed. Plenty of grip in both dry, damp and wet with no offensive road noise.
Think a set were circa £650 from memory?

I had goodyear eagle f1's on the Lexus when I bought it, didn't like them at all, swapped them for Toyo T1-Rs and never looked back.
I can't comment on the other 2 tyres as Ive never had them

Just got some Uniroyal Rainsport 2's in 235/40/18 and so far I can't complain.... although it has been snowing for 50% of my on the road time since buying them
I think they're just under £100 in your size.

I have nearly new Eagle F1's on my VRS and I have to say there not very good thought they were meant to be one of the best tyres going.

Have you looked into Hankook V12 Evo's? After I religiously bought Eagle F1 GSD3s and they stop producing them, it's what i've used since and recommend them highly.

Looks like the Goodyears are a no then!
Hancooks look to be £90 a pop which is nice, but saying that the vredstein sessantas are about the same too..
and found rain sports at £102.. i hate buying decent tyres.. so easy when its cheap tyres...
