I'm trying to buy a car and it comes without the V5, so I'm keen to have it HPI checked to make sure it's not stolen.

Can anyone here do a check for me if they have a membership with such websites? thank you

I've sold cars without V5 before cause they haven't arrived yet, did he give a reason why he didn't have it?

not worth the risk buying a car without one.

it could be that he hasn't had the car long and wants rid, but also could be stolen.

i didn't apply for my V5 until 6 months had gone by, partly because i never received one in the post and partly because i was too lazy to send a letter off.

checked his other feedback on eBay and he appears to be some kind of home mechanic / private trader, selling a few cars so I'm just going to assume he got hold of the car cheap and hasn't had chance to get the V5 / doesn't want to spend £25.

If he robs me, so help me, I'll leave him negative feedback so fast he won't know what's hit him! lol

Picking it up friday, will probably buy it with or without HPI but if your check tells me it's dodgy, I won't.

Cheers for doing it!
