right quick question anyone verify if i can wind boost up on a 2.1 D-turbo 406 the same as an XUD9TE from a 306?
presume its the same sort of idea as its a DT not a hdi any advice would be much appreciated

Yeah the 2.1 from a 406 is an xud11, same principal as an xud9 though, they're both mechanical.

Ok thought it would be havnt been to look at it yet been told subaru Td04's fit straight on them haha dunno if this is true or not but its just gona be a bit of fun sumin to kill at crail maybe make a stack lum up tye A pillar or sumin just for a laugh

A lot of people do fit Td04's but they're not a straight fit unfortunately, they need an adaptor made up but there are people who sell them ready made. A couple of other things are needed to get the most out of a bigger turbo as well, like a ground LDA pin to get the most fuel on boost.

Can all be done though, there's a 306 running a truck turbo on another forum.

Yeah was looking into that ground Lda pins
Think thr one im gettings a 96 running 2 ecu's so been told its mappable and been told transit fuel pump heads work too?

A 1996 will be a 2.1 xud11 which has no ecu at all.

The only diesels you can map are the later hdi's with an ecu but they didn't come out until 1999.

More than likely they've been told that themselves and don't know any better so they think it's true.
