Had a leaky samco (pieces of shite tbh, going to look into buying a different set)

Leaky hose removed and Y piece i planned to fit

Marked my cuts with tape

I then cut the hose into 3 pieces

Then i used jubliee clips to join it all up

Close up of my new fast road hose.

Fitted back to car, no leaks now

Looks a bit messy with the jubliee clips but i think to some kid that doesn't know about engines, my engine now looks a bit more like a race car engine

+50 internet points right there

Oh and samco hoses seem crap, all the inside lining of pipe has weird splits on it, to me they look like a manufacturing error/problem

100% cannot see how you think that looks any better jambo?

If a hose leaks on a car i buy a new hose, not chop it up and fit a t-piece which is what 3cm has done. If one section is worn enough to leak i bet the rest is on its way, although this probs leaked from the joint

Not sure what the thin pipe does, just seems to be going to or from the header tank. Can't tell the engine temp as my gauge on dash has broken ages ago.

I been thinking about mailing a letter to samco about it. Can see it in the bit I cut off. So might send that to them.

Have heard other people slagging off samcos over the years but thought mine were ok at the time.

Wouldn't like to use the pipe I just put in on some high pressure situation. Not sure what the grey layer does but its spilt all over the place on the one pipe I looked at.

Interesting. Maybe a bad batch, or perhaps a problem with the black ones.

I've got a mixture of Aeroquip and blue Samco on mine. They're all about fifteen years old and none have failed, aged or perished.

I'd be interested to hear if anybody else has had trouble with black Samco stuff.

Nice little repair btw 3CM Did you have the ally adaptor made or is it an off the shelf item?

I bought it in error about 4yrs ago. Came from the US. So I bought several parts. Including the rad neck in the pic.

I've tried selling it about 4 times now but had no interest so slung it in a box. Quite impressed I remembered where it was. It's meant to go on a golf.

Looks like a good effort to me, however I'd agree about spinning the clips round a bit.
