Me and my mate fitted his let in his nova at the weekend, but now heard that because it has an XE inlet cam the timing needs to be 1 notch back. Is this correct or have I heard bollocks? Before I go take engine back out.

Cheers

If its the standard cam pulley then leave it on the standard marks. If its a vernier then it should be half a tooth retarded

But all this should be properly setup with a dti gauge ect.

No you dont.

You retard the crank by 7deg. Which in turn would mean you only retard the cam by 3.5deg as there two cam revolutions in one crank.

Gets allot of people wondering that one. 100% 3.5 deg on the cam pulley tho....
