Nope as the valve wouldn't open. Would only empty the tank not lines and calipers.

Yes at work we use a snap on blue point one where you connect it to compressed air lines and it suck all the fluid out of the nipples. Once the systems empty you refill it and then the best way is to bleed by getting someone to sit in the car and pump the pedal until no air comes out then hold the pedal down and close the nipple.

Ben is on about garages using mums turkey baster to suck the visible fluid out the reservoir and then topping it up so the fluid looks fresh.

I use a cheapo vizibleed kit, cost about £2 from motosave.

Not used one myself Kyle but used plenty of pressure bleeders.

They are superior to a two man bleed, because you don't risk damaging or disrupting the seals in the master cylinder.

This can be a possibility with an old school, two man, manual bleed, due to the potential additional travel on the brake pedal and as a result, the master cylinder piston.

This does happen. It can be rife.


And it means the fluid has not been changed. All that is new is what is in the reservoir.

Everything in the pipes/lines and brake components is the same old shit.

I have my own electronic fluid tester which measures water content, so I can advise whether a car needs a fluid change or not when i'm servicing it.

I've got one of those one way nipped things, cost a fiver from halfords and I find it much better than those ez bleeds that piss brake fluid all over the car

I use the pressurised easy bleed kit and its spot on, I've got 2 tips though:

Don't fill up the bottle like it tells you to, remove the cap and fill the master cylinder directly

And make sure the wheel doesn't have more than 20psi or you'll damage your master cylinder seals
