shit, the only place Ive come back from and sworn never to go back.
I stayed on Djerba which is an island to the South about the size of the Isle of Wight. Horrible, dirty place with the rudest staff and general public that I've ever had the misfortune to deal with. Also going out into the local towns and markets was a vile ordeal and never felt safe at all.
I've been to a number of muslim/islamic countries and had no issues and whilst you never feel 100% safe in some of the markets, the ones on Djerba felt really uneasy - my ex even got dragged out of the taxi we were in and into a shop/house thing

I had a good holiday there 4/5 years ago stayed near Hammamet. Fine once you got used to the taxi's beeping at you non-stop

Shit hole, only place remotely nice is Port El Kantoui... but even that isn't worth the effort.
If your bird is a blonde though, expect a decent trade in for a camel.

Proper shite hole, just to give you an idea of how shite we stopped there on a cruise for one day once and hated it. It also looked like the ship dropped the cotents of it's shit tanks as we left the port
