my apologies, never saw that. it does look terrific.

what i don't understand is this 'nanotechnology' stuff. i seem to see it more and more on car cleaning products now. i think my meguiars shampoo says something about it aswell.

Nanotechnology has been used in sealants for glass, bodywork, material for a while.
Polished Bliss have sold Nanolex products for ages.

Not really, but I can tell you this:

Nanolex Convertible Top Sealant is an advanced nanotechnology coating that forms a semi-permanent water and oil repellent barrier on fabric convertible tops. Developed in Germany, Nanolex Convertible Top Sealant utilises a volatile solvent-based delivery system to lay down a self organising interlaced molecular net of nano-scale organic compounds and hydrophobic additives to form an invisible and fully breathable anti-detention coating that chemically bonds to treated surfaces at the molecular level. Following application, rainfall simply beads up and rolls off of treated surfaces, taking surface contaminants with it via the Lotus Effect.

detailing world will be up in arms. get the car properly machine polished and get this put on, then drive round like a boss behind mud covered trucks and wankers with mis-aligned washer jets.

As I said above, this technology is already being used in sealants for cars.

Saw this a while ago, pretty awesome examples!

Nano Technology is just a generic term to describe the scale on which the particles are being manipulated.

Totally, but i'm guessing you can't get that other level without the discolouration. Not at the moment anyway...

I wonder if you could coat yourself with it, go swimming, and then come out totally dry

Or would you drown because you can't generate any friction with your hands/feet to keep afloat?

For those wanting a little bit more of an explanation there was a TED talk on it. Let me just find it...

Nanotechnology is molecular engineering. Instead of mixing chemicals together to make different chemicals, you work at an atomic or molecular level to put together a chemical from scratch which has the properties you desire. That's a pretty simplistic description, but that's basically it.

Unfortunately you can't use this stuff on cars because of the way it sticks to the surface. Otherwise it would be boss for the dirt to fall straight off
