http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11679/8726468/Manchester-City-and-New-York-Yankees-to-form-new-MLS-side

What are they up to here then? Is it a way for them to make money in New York that they can then take any profits from to put in to Man City?

Probably just upping their status in America, like Asia, they'll be a shit load of money to be made out of it, proper football is really starting to take off over there now, some really good crowds at MLS matches.

There's a fair bit of talent emerging in America with the sport gowing pretty quickly; so I can hazard a guess that they'll see it as a way of getting some talent whilst gaining reputation in the US.

Pretty sure it's already been used for pre season friendly games and I know it's definitely been used for American football so doubt it'll be an issue

Interesting to see how Man City will try and operate it now they won't be able to just buy whoever they want to win.
