Nobody in their right mind would, your don't get to work with the best of the under 21s. May as well make it the under 18s.

They either need to go the Spain route and enforce call-ups or just decide they dont GAF about non-senior teams and have done with it

Hearign a few journos calling for Hodgson to manage both eith a junior coach (such as G Nev) taking on day to day duties. good idea in theory IMO

Enforced call ups is the only way it'll work, if players are made unavailable by clubs they can't play the week after, although not sure how that'd help with tournaments as they're post season.

Our other youth teams always seem to do well as they're allowed the players.

Think Hodgson doing both would be a good idea, but the FA would have to make it clear to him whether they want the u21s to matter or not. Otherwise it'll change nothing. E.g. he still would of taken Ox etc... To Brazil instead of Israel

on the one hand; look at spain's u21 teams and how well they do

on the other hand, is that partially due to the depth of talent available

seocndly (on the other hand) FUCK OFF YOU CANT HAVE JACK WILSHERE FOR A STUPID U21 TOURNAMENT.... ANd youll never change that mentality in english football (even if wilsh is older than 21 now lol)

Yeah, because that worked out well didn't he. Stop him from going to that tournament, then injure him for 2 years yourselves instead - He should of gone to that tournament.

The fact that Italy and Spain had 60+ senior caps between them shows that they actually care about the tournament, whereas we obviously didn't

Senior games shouldn't clash with U21 games either. Taking players to Brazil meant they couldn't play in the U21 Euro's. Pointless.

he was already fucked on england senior duty FYI

Yes, but as i said, is that because they care or because they can due to not even starting Cesc, Mata etc in the seniors?

Joe Kinnear. He brought through the majority of the players in the U21 setup anyway, seems like a perfect fit.

Iv also wondered if an idea such as giving clubs a prize in terms of money if they produce english players that participate in and win tournaments.

That woudl encourage them to better english players, and give them incentive to make them play for the country

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23115611

U20s knocked out of U20 World Cup without winnign a game... drawing with IRAQ and CHILE and losing to EGYPT - 3 bastions of world football, im sure youll agree

Also, is the coach THE peter taylor?? Yes,. yes it is (i just looked again)

the new academy is needed now more than ever! i see ross barkley was in the team btw, recognise very few other people other than ward-prowse, kane and danny potts
