The water pressure in our new house is shocking, with the hose on full it just pours out of the nozzle rather than spraying out, if you have a tap on in the house at the same time, it stops completely. The toilet cistern takes 20 minutes to fill!
Is there anything we can do?

Make sure your stop tap isn't turned half off

Kitchen sink will deffo be off the main, as said check the stop tap is turned all the way on, Is there an initial burst of pressure, then nothing? or is it shit all the time? If there is a burst of pressure first then its likely its a flow problem. Do you have a water meter? they have little isolation valves either side, these could be half off or something.
first thing to do is locate the stoptap really, if its a lead main then it could be furred up inside, if its a blue plastic main then it wont be that.

Will check stop cock tonight.
As for the meter, I assume so but have no idea where it is, will find that and check it out too.
Matt, there's not a burst of pressure, if you put your thumb over the end of the hose you can feel the pressure build slightly then drop off completely, take your thumb off and it's a trickle
Will it have a tank? It's got a Combi boiler

Combi boiler you shouldn't have a tank (check in the loft or airing cupboard type places, it'll be obvious if you do). If it's been fitted correctly they should have checked there was decent pressure/flow (never sure which) for fitting the combi.
You should have mains pressure hot and cold water everywhere.

Turn off in the street & remove the stopcock, they sometimes have a filter which can clog up.

There's definitely no hot water tank, that's a certainty. I need to check the loft for cold though.
It makes that typical 'clunk' and splutter noise as if there's air getting in somewhere.

Stop cock was turned right down. I now have a water jet cutter in my kitchen.
