What's the crack, am I likely to get pulled.
Standard plates are 20.5in x 4.5in
Mine are 13in x 4in
It's standard legal letters legally spaced. But just cut down the excess plate that's unused. There's about 10/15mm from the edge of the letters to edge of the plate.

The rules only stipulate character size and that there needs to be the thickness of a '1' character between each character, between the edge of each character and the border and the width of two '1' characters between each group of characters.
Damn that sounds complicated
I'm pretty sure it was Jamiroquai a few years back who got so sick of being pulled for his private plates he had one made up that literally just had the yellow as a thin border around the characters so it was EXACTLY to spec

Looks like the sizing is legal. I've done the same with mine and have had them on for years. You should have the code and whatever shown but you'll be very unlucky to get pulled for that.

If lettering is legal you just need an 11mm border all around.
I've got the same on my front.

No issue at all with size. As long as lettering and spacing is legal, they're ok. I have cut down plates on mine, no issues.

Yep 11mm border around the outside, 11mm between each letter and 33mm gap between the groups of letters.

I hate number plates where they are cut all the way around the digits so there's no border. Looks hideous.
