First thing I said too!
Shame to lose a well known UK manufacturer but I'm sure they'll be back (again) like most companies.

Based on what? Far too many variables to make such a bold statement.

Shit.
Have never had the money to do it so far, but the only replacement wheels i've ever had planned for the RS and the Rover were five spoke matt/satin black MOs. Always thought i'd be able to do it someday.
Not much chance of that now.
Had no idea they were in trouble. I would always have imagined that they were recession proof, owing to their main customer base.
Such a shame.

How much to do think it cost to design, and make wheels? Plus the rent for the unit, wages and tax. If they sold they're wheels for a smaller profit, I'm sure they would of gone under years ago. No point running and company and not making any money.
It's such a shame to see a company like that go, I hope someone buys the name.

They will own the unit, they've been there forever after all. As for design, it's all done in house by the owner, no expensive outsourcing. There's not a lot of r&d, they have very few new designs. All the manufacture is done on site too as they have the technique perfected.
I'm pretty sure their margins on each unit are pretty good, they're just not selling enough as they're too much money.

Doesn't mean they own it, just because they've been there ages.
For all you know they re mortgaged the plae to free up funds when they realised they were going under

Apparently they aren't going out of business, just moving location.
