Going to a scrap metal place later as I have a double cat to sell with manifold branch from a lexus IS300.
Anyone had any experience with these? Going rate etc

Completely depends on the make and model and what it is made of.
I took one from a 2.0 Ulysse and got £55.

I got £50 for a BMW 330d cat and £50 for a Audi a3 petrol car. But £120 for a Citroen Picasso derv.....
There a couple of iPhone apps you can get that tell you scrap price

i had two both from x16xe's corsa and tigra. both where copy types and they wearnt even worth doing the transaction (£2ish), just chucked them in the boot of a astra that was going in for scrap

A copy for a pre-2001 car will be ceramic, that's why they're worth nothing, not because they're not genuine GM.

So what are you saying?? They are worth as much as an original cat??
Ive had a few copy's from cars newer than 2001, and non of them have had a magnet not stick to them. Genuine cats, the magnet dosn't stick to the insides.

Not worth as much, no. The genuine cat will have a higher quantity of precious metals as they are designed to last longer than any of the aftermarket stuff is.
You said they 'don't have platinum' in though, that's not true.

yeah iirc i got £20 just off haggling with the scrap man who drives around looking for scrap for an old 1.2 8v one... could of took it in and got more no doubt. just depends on the car...
heard that teh genuine Peugeot HDI ones go in for a canny penny, few hundred iirc. vectra b dti's do too, find it very tempting to scrap my daily off for the cat haha
