I hate them But can see the work and technology involved in one

If your going to build a fast car build a fast car, dont put massive leather seats in, this is why i prefer the mclaren f1,

which isnt all that much slower despite being 10 years older technology

do you really think Bugatti were trying to make the fastest possible car they could?

Was one of there biggest selling point being the fastest production car

The point was it was the fastest production car whilst having the high quality luxurious interior, far more impressive than just a stripped out lightweight car.

I never used to be a great fan of the veyron but it is an amazing piece of engineering.

thats why its in my list, not a huge fan of the looks

more about the amount of time, effort, technology and engineering to make a 250mph, reliable turn key 1001bhp car, in that respect its a masterpiece

You might not like them, but is it really that hard to understand why it would be a contender being one of the most technologically advanced engineered cars available in the history of time?!

The Mclaren F1 came with leather.

Road cars generally need to be comfortable, the leather does not weigh much more than cloth, and the extra 1-2kg's tops is not going to blunt a 600hp cars performance

bmc Mini.
Nissan kgc10.
Pagani Zonda.

Not a massive fan of most super cars but the Zonda is totally bonkers in looks and power so it's pretty special.

Good question Stan...

1) The Mini - in spite of it's flaws, a fairly revolutionary little car that could be driven confidently by people of either sex and almost any height, as daily transport and a shopping car, yet went on to be abundantly successful in rallying and tarmac racing, including winning at the Monte Carlo rally. A real giant killer.

2) The MK II & MK I Escort - whilst it's humble origins as day to day transport for the proletariat are still clear, these two cosmetically different models of essentially the same car, with a more or less shared floorpan, have become the most prolific rally car in the history of motorsport.
They are also comfortable and pleasant to drive, even in their most basic form. And are just very cool and (rather annoyingly) still massively in demand some 33 years after production ceased, whilst obviously being in very short supply.
Without the Escort, there almost certainly would never have been the Sierra and Escort Cosworth motorsport programmes and M-Sport would not exist either. Ford Motorsport and their affiliates owe a lot to this little car.

3) The McLaren F1 - Just exceptional in every way possible and still impresses me more now than the Veyron ever will. It also competed in GT events and won at Le Mans, so isn't just some flashy, tarmac-bound gin palace. It actually has some genuine racing credentials.
Plus it's achingly pretty, whereas the Veyron isn't.

Ford Model T
Jaguar E type
Ferrari F40

All paved the way for technological improvements of their specific times and changed the motoring industry I'm one way or another. Model T was the first production car; E type was the affordable alternative to the Italian super are of the day and has a look which has transcended the generations and the f40 was the first 200mph production car-until something hits 300mph; everything that is faster than an F40 will still always be compared to the Ferrari and the Ferrari will be remembered as such.

I'd rate the beetle above the mini too.

And aside from the e type, I'd not be interested in owning either of the other two-I'd take an F50 over an F40 even though it's reportedly a worse car to drive and own.
