Hi gang. Folks need a new car, been looking at a 1.4 207 3door with 53k and it recently had the cambelt changed.
What should I be looking for? The clutch on the one I drove was really high and the brakes were super sensitive.
it's up at £4k by the way

Clutches seem to bite high on french cars, that's nothing to worry about.
If you can, get the 16v over the 8v on the 1.4 engine as well.
We managed to pick up a 61 plate for 6k with 7k on the clock 2 months back.
Cannot really fault my 308. Has 42k on the clock now and has not asked for anything apart from servicing.

Dual mass flywheel was a pain in the arse for me! Luckily it was in warranty just and after a lot of hassle I got it done free.
Loved it though. Highly recommend the GT model

We have one to potter around in. 2009 1.4 8v. pretty crap on fuel for any long distances. No power to overtake even the slowest of cars but as a runaround it's been perfect.

The clutch on my GF's 307 also bites high. It's normal for them, but the only downside is it just keeps adjusting itself and you have no warning if and when its about to pop and need replaced.

Thanks guys. Yeah it has an oil leak that will be sorted (flagged up on a past MOT).
I thought the clutches were hydraulic? I was sure the one in my Xsara was and that's basically a 306.
Hmmmmm
