God, I remember this from when I first signed up on here all those years ago! Still looks good and I still love this shape of scooby, hope you have many more years of motoring with it when it's back.

Called them back. Said it was going to be at least £2000 now to do all the work and they didn't want to do it.

Charging me £100 for time spent and need to pick it up now.

You'd be better off looking for another shell to swap all your stuff over too

Even at £950 for the original quote I'd have told them to jog on. Shame this will probably end up being scrapped due to rust. Unless you can cut the parts out from another shell that's being scrapped for a front ender or something

I think ojc is right. Mega price cos they didn't want the work. Might be worth asking around a few other places

Other place I took it to weren't confident of doing it and said they would just be blind welding and that it would go through the rear quarter and damage the paint.

Would be a shame to give up with this car over some rear arch rot.

Think how far some people go with lesser cars, entire floor pans and such.

Find somebody good with fab and offer them a few hundred to fix it, and then get it into a bodyshop for paint.

Picked it up this morning. Goes too well to be stripped. Going to have to have a think before I do anything.

Saw a local place have to fix the rot on a p1 in the same place! Pics all over their Facebook in through the wing.

Is it that common then?

Must be, but I see P reg etc from time to time with better rear arches than mine! Unless they have already been repaired.

Going to jack it up and see how bad it is, I get the impression they just didn't want to do it.

Sounds it, you properly opposed to reshelling it? I'd lend a hand/some tools if you fancy taking it on

No way of fixing this permanently without replacing the rear quarters as they well and truly go from the inside out. Big post on Scoobynet years ago about a really good bodyshop doing both rears.

Ended up selling my RB5 because of the same problem
