In need to get some adjustable top mounts really for front (and coilovers)
What are people's experience with solid top mounts? and what does pillow top mount means?
Also was told that "i would add much stress to chassis and have to strengthen it? :s
I am n00b at this as you can tell

They make the front harder slightly due to them losing the rubber too bush. You'll need to cut the top of the strut top away if it's the econcentric type.
There is no requirement to strengthen the top of the turret.
Mine are from compbrake but I had to replace the bearings from new as it had play in it.
It will also lower the car by about 10-15mmas well due to it being a smaller unit compared to the standard set up

I had compbrake eccentric ones on my XE corsa. You don't have to cut any of the strut tops if you fit the top mounts upside down on the strut, still works spot on that way too. Cant recommend them enough if you plan on tracking it!

Probably will be noisy, mine have got pillowball mounts and rears rattle but still not sure whether new mounts will sort it or if its just a feature of the design.
Fronts are fine presumably because of the load on them at all times.

Shouldn't fit them upside down as all the force of the damper is pushing on the circlip that holds the bearing in, should be fitted the other way so the force is pushing against the machined shoulder in the top mount itself

I just put the top mount in the hole and kept cutting until I could spin it a full 360 you don't have to do a full 360 as if it's a road car you only really need the adjustment to give it more castor or camber

Completely see your point! But I know Nic Barnes runs his LET corsa with the mounts upside down and I did too.. Had no issues.
