Its engineered aye. Would have preferred solid but was advised I needed that for floating floor.

I've fitted solid as a floating floor before, might have some pictures somewhere.

Looks nice that John, must admit I didn't want anything other than tiles down in the kitchen. I was surprised how easy it is to lay this stuff, I am a DIY disaster master and we just about got it laid down, but I had to cut round a marble hearth I laid at the same time (bargin £10 solid marble hearth, backplate and wooden surround on ebay!).
The worst part about laying it is getting the bastard skirting boards off. Unfortunately I couldnt reuse mine as I had to rage them to get them off, I put new ones back on but wish I had paid someone to do it. I'll get it redone at some point in the future
