Hi Folks, I am looking to upgrade to a newer car in the next few weeks and I am thinking of heading up to Northern Ireland to look at a 2008 Octavia VRs.
He says he is willing to consider trade in's, so I am just trying to get a guide on what my Astra would be worth in sterling.
2005 Vauxhaul Astra SRI 150 with cruise control
3 good Kumho's, 1 new Toyo Proxy
215k Miles
Mechanically sound except the DMF probably needs to be replaced at this rate.
Cosmetically, its 10 years old and has 215k miles, it shows its age a bit. Rip in the drivers seat, cracked front splitter and side skirt.
When I bought it there was a full clean HPI check, but the passenger 1/4 may have had a tip before I bought it.
Recent work just completed
4x reconditioned injectors (€500!!!)
1x swirl flaps delete
1x new rad
1x timing belt kit (including water pump)
2x front drop links
1x drivers side ball joint
Serviced regularly with correct high quality oil
As always, thanks in advance!

Tuppence, pretty much.
No normal car buyer will buy it with 215k miles unless its less than a weeks wages.

No opportunity to split it? That's my plan with my car, its done 175k, I'm planning on running it until its no longer economically viable, then split off anything saleable and scrap the rest.

I dont have the time or space. Its probably worth more on the Irish market so. Even with the stellar milage on it, engine only has 80k on it (was replaced with an remanufactured engine from Opel).
I should see up to €2.5k for it here!

I'd say it's worth around £1200 - £1500 in the UK.

Personally I would pay around £800 for it, would be worried with such mileage.
Is that one the chocolate gear box model?

Down south it will be worth more, but why ask the question. List the price you want and you will soon get your answer.

Just read the thing about trading in in NI they will offer fuck all, ROI plate and 215k they will not touch it, plus the Opel engine will not help in NI, perhaps in border area you might have more hope but still will not get what you want, just being honest.

Honesty is fine. Not taking offence. Its why I asked.
Only thing I would say about the engine, they are all stamped the exact same, its just the engine cover that makes it any difference and it came out of the UK, so can be re-registered on a UK plate etc.
Thanks for the info folks, I am sure now its worth more here than anywhere else.

why does stating a fact make somebody a "nob head"?
are you actually 5 or just an immature adult?
