Has anyone used a metal finishers for chroming??

I did a quick google search and sent off a few emails to companies with pictures of the parts I want chroming..

All I'm after is a Corsa b bonnet catch/spring chroming and so far I've had quotes of £130 and the cheapest being £48.

Now I'm not sure on the whole process, but for something as small as a bonnet catch I think £48 is still a bit steep.

Anyone have any recommendations? Or contacts that deal with this sort of work.

Chroming is expensive I'm afraid.

See if any local places will chrome paint you one or get it powder coated.

Look up liquid chrome, Jay Leno does a vid

I could chrome paint it myself, but it won't last long being a bonnet catch. Not sure how well powdercoat would last either

My chrome bonnet catch has been fitted 6 months and it's got spots of rust. I doubt I could justify chroming stuff on a daily but I drive my car one day a week if that. Only use it at weekends or shows

I'm sure you can buy these with a chrome finish.

Is this the part you're after?

That last one is a bonnet stay. Unsure whether the others are suitable.

No problem. Those Germans love chrome parts. Pretty sure there's not a Corsa part that doesn't come in chrome. Right down to nuts and bolts.
