Looking to do a bodge for a catch can on the shogun as Iv just cleaned the intercooler and want to prevent the oil in it and intake pipes.
Anyone go any pics of their diy efforts? Simple enough with a coke bottle with hose run into it and then A breather filter installed somewhere aswell for the fumes?

Main breather into top of a 1L bottle will be fine just remember to position it so if it over fills it doesn't leak down onto your tyres/brakes

Are you sure the oil isn't coming from your turbo seals?

just put the pipe in and leave it, dont put a filter or anything on it, mine works perfectly and takes about 2 months to fill.

Id rather eliminate this first. It isnt burning oil, just want to keep the intake etc as clean as possible.
Stuck the hose straight into a bottle thats wedged in place nicely behind a heat shield. Quite a bit of pressure coming throuhh and hose was tight on the neck of the bottle so iv pierced a hole near the top to let it vent a little

If its only leaking on the compressor side you wont see oil being burnt .. Is the engine breathing heavy? (any abnormal pressure from the dip-stick tube?)

Theres quite a bit of pressure in the breather, iv still to take off the rocker and check the gauze in the breather as their common for blocking. Havent checked dipstick while its running. I dont think the oil in the pipes / intercooler was excessive, just a coating. Seen the same in my ibiza tdi. Im just trying to clean everything up after blanking off the egr and keep the engine as clean / healthy as I can

If it was leaking oil on the compressor side it would then get forced through the intake pipe, inlet and then burnt off in combustion.
If it was leaking into exhaust side it would get burnt off thst way aswell, and smoke. Or is that nonsense
Im pretty confident theres no turbo problems
