Photobucket have revamped their site and mobile app, and its gone from annoying to utter shite.

What are the best alternatives?

Just need to upload and store/link jpegs from cam phone and digi cam. Not fussed on videos or blogging or anything else.

flickr, up to 1TB free storage on their free accounts. Can download originals and share/embed at the same time.

It actually retains good quality in the photos too!

100% no.

This was the cause of my PC being overloaded with weird processes and too much RAM being used. Its hosting I require more than storage.

Flickr is very good, but imo not well suited for "casual" sharing.

I flat out don't believe Dropbox was the cause of your problems. Unless you computer is from 1998 I simply can't see Dropbox using any significant amount of memory.

agreed, the sharing aspect of flickr can be a little convoluted these days but the positives far outweigh the negatives for me I still prefer the older version of the site but i guess i'll just have to get used to it

It 100% was, removed it and cured all my problems. Its the desktop sync that causes the drain.

Another vote for Flickr here.

I only use Photobucket for mobile images now as I can upload/share directly. Everything taken on my Camera goes to Flickr, mainly because it doesn't ruin the image quality like Photobucket...

I've been using Google+ Images for a while now. The upload from gallery on my phone is just one click, album management seems decent however one annoying part is I can't figure out how to sort photo's in an album by date taken, most recent first - so each time I upload I need to resort it in the "organise" menu.

My Android phone streams down all my google+ albums to my gallery app etc.

I have the same issue.

It'd be nice if someone made a lightweight app that you could just point to your own server space.

Simplest solution, don't use the desktop sync (i don't)

Box.net is an alternative, also 50GB codes floating around.

Of course Dom, I removed it because I never use it, so got rid of the whole thing. I predominantly use Google Drive Sync which although used rarely doesnt slow everything down.

Thanks for all the suggestions I will check them all out
