I'm looking for a laptop backpack to replace the shoulder bag work has given me. I don't like shoulder bags to start with and I don't like brandishing I have kit on me walking around the town I work in. Having asked around the one I have been shown and now really want is a North Face Borealis Backpack but it's bloody expensive. £70!

Does anyone have something similar but for far less money? I like wacky designs as well as simple colours so I'm pretty open to any suggestions, but haven't the foggiest of where to look / quirky websites that may sell stuff like this apart from the high street stores.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I buy these Dell rucksacks for our site engineers.

Good bags, lots of space, plenty of pockets etc
Just like carrying a normal back pack

I'd suggest Samsonite, but they likely aren't cheaper, so probably of no interest.

Both of mine are good, one is a normal Laptop backpack, the other is a larger one that also has wheels etc.

Pop in to TK Maxx, especially this time of year with their ski stuff. I got a Dakine laptop shoulder bag for a 17" laptop for £14.99 iirc!

Yes, but TK Maxx doesn't only sell shoulder bags. Handbags, backpacks, cases, suitcases, everything

Me too. We sell Samsonite at work and they're fantastic quality as well as intelligently designed.

They have a few in the sub £60 price range, but it's generally not too difficult to find them below RRP.
