Its not a Guinness world record run. And they are 1 below the number needed for a production car. Its also a big engine in a light car. Completely different from what the Veyron managed.

Veryon 1600 BHP monster is also out next year. Rumoured for 290 mph
I'd take either if I had to

Brilliant.
Prettier too.
If I had to barrel roll one though, I think i'd probably opt for the Veyron.

Not technically as it should be over two runs to account for windage. I'd be interested to see it being done properly.

This is what I can't understand, there has always been a reason why it's not run a reciprocal course and until it does, it'll never take the Veyron's crown.
I can't understand why NASA only let them run in one direction either, seems ludicrous.

Well done, but hardy an effortless drive. Wouldn't want to drive across Europe in one.
Veyron all day long.

They buy them from them and modify them. Exige IIRC. So they know all about it

From Wikipedia:
"As the run was in a single direction and only 11 cars have been produced to date, and is not a series production car, but registered as a modified Lotus Exige, it does not qualify as the worlds fastest production car in the Guiness Book of Records"
So technically it doesn't beat the Bugatti.

In some ways thats more impressive for a small volume manufacturer without the VW Groups huge R&D and resources. But they are really two completely different kinds of vehicles and not really much of a comparison IMO

The 'super veyron' rumour has been quashed by the head of Bugatti last year, they're not building it. Not building the 4 door either.

Timrud_'s old Corsa would still be quicker.
And Nic Barn would get within 10mph of it and be proud of his rusty unreliable Corsa.
