Great episode, I'm pretty sure there is no way that was a fully 'original' XR2 though, must of been restored at some point as they where all pink even in the 80's

Either way it looked great, reminded me of being 17 and wanting a hot hatch so bad

Was going to say it was silly clean when he picked it up. Was shocked when he opened the bonnet etc. Like you say before the girl had it was probably owned by a fan or simular.

Really good episode.

I wish Ed would take on more jobs like the gearbox rebuild.

This would never capture a strong mainstream audience, but I'd love to watch a series of Ed building a single car - like a kit or something, or a full on restoration of a single car over 12-20 episodes.

Ever seen kit car crisis? there is/was also a good show about people building boats.
